Dear members,
We are pleased to enclose the detailed agenda and background documents of the Executive Bureau meeting in Montevideo that will take place on:

IMPORTANT NOTICE: In order to contribute to our sustainable future and to make good use of resources, you are requested to bring copies of your own documents with you. There will be no printed sets available for this meeting in Montevideo.
The key institutional day for UCLG will be 6 April, where the Executive Bureau will gather around business sessions and a political debate.
The Policy Councils will be organized within the context of the Culture Summit and the themes proposed are linked to the UCLG Culture Agenda:
- Policy Council on the right to the city, Thursday 4 April, 11:30-13:00, in Buenos Aires: “Implementing cultural rights in the city: what does this involve?”
- Policy Council on opportunities for all, Thursday 4 April, 14:30-16:00, in Buenos Aires: “Generational dialogue and creativity: strategies for youth”
- Policy Council on resilient cities, Friday 5 April, 9:30-11:00, in Buenos Aires: “Experimenting with creativity in public spaces”
- Policy Council on multilevel governance, Saturday 6 April, 12:30-13:30, in Montevideo: “Innovative local financing for sustainability”
The Financial Management Committee and the Committee on Statutory Affairs will meet in Montevideo in the morning of 6th April.
The Working Group on Territorial Prevention and Management of Crises has convened a meeting, from 10:30 to 12:00. Please find the draft agenda.
Please note that there might be minor changes in space allocation.
LOGISTICAL INFORMATION
Registration
Should you not have already done so, we remind you that for statutory and security reasons, you are required to confirm your participation by filling in the online registration form. You should fill one form per participant.
Registrations will close on 29 March.
Hotels
The main hotel for the delegation of the Executive Bureau is Esplendor by Wyndham Montevideo Punta Carretas. To book a room there with the special rate negotiated by our hosts (75 US$ / night, breakfast included), please write directly to the hotel at reservas@esplendormontevideo.com, indicating the code “CGLUMVD” to identify yourselves as part of the UCLG delegation.
Our hosts in Montevideo have also selected another hotel at walking distance: Dazzler by Wyndham Montevideo. The negotiated rate is the same (75 US$ / night, breakfast included). To book a room there, please write directly to the hotel at reservas@dazzlermontevideo.com, indicating the code “CGLUMVD” to identify yourselves as part of the UCLG delegation.
Transport
5 April - Transfers from the port to the hotel (for those arriving by boat from the Culture Summit in Buenos Aires) will be provided by the hosts.
5 April – Participants arriving on flights from Iberia, Air France, and Latam can expect a bus to transport them to the hotel, a service provided by the hosts.
7 April – Participants departing the hotel for the airport (flights with Iberia, Air France, Latam) can expect a bus to transfer them, a service provided by the hosts.
Alternative forms of transport:
Uber – Roughly a cost of ~12€ (~455 Pesos Uruguayos, UYU), and should take approximately 30 minutes.
Taxis – Roughly a cost of ~20€ (~756 Pesos Uruguayos, UYU), and should take approximately 30 minutes.
Our hosts will also provide shuttles from the hotel to the meeting venue, according to the starting hours of the different meetings organized in the morning.
For your convenience, we attach a logistical note with more details about accommodation and transport.
Visas
We inform you that you may need a visa to be able to enter Uruguay, and that this process can be lengthy. We strongly recommend you start the visa procedure as soon as possible.
