Award UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21
Only 6 weeks left to participate

Dear members,

The objective of the International Award ‘UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21’ is to recognize leading cities and individuals that have distinguished themselves through their contribution to culture as a key dimension in sustainable cities. The Award has two categories: “Cities or Local Governments” and “Individuals”.

The call for the 3rd edition (2017-2018) of the International Award ‘UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21’ has been open since 2 November 2017. The deadline for the reception of candidacies and/or nominations is 16 March 2018.

All cities that are direct or indirect members of UCLG can participate in the Award by sending their application including a recently implemented cultural project, cultural programme or cultural policy.

Please consider the following elements for a possible application or nomination:
-       The rules of the Award
-       The application form for Cities and Local Governments
-       The nomination form dedicated to the category “Individuals”
-       The dedicated website: award.agenda21culture.net

The International Jury of the Award will examine all duly completed and relevant candidacies in the course of May 2018. The winners will be announced at the UCLG Executive Bureau in Strasbourg (23-26 May 2018).

The Awards Ceremony of the 3rd edition of the International Award ‘UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21’ will be held in Mexico City in October 2018 (exact dates TBC); an international seminar on Cultural Rights in the City and the 15th meeting of the UCLG Committee on Culture will also be part of the agenda.

We invite you to submit your candidacies or a nomination proposal for the International Award ‘UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21’ before 16 March 2018, and to consult the dedicated website for more information.
