#UCLGMeets

Dear members,

We are pleased to share with you the latest up-dates for the virtual meetings of the Executive Bureau.

The #UCLGMeets week in a glimpse

Under the theme “Care at the heart of local service provision for an inclusive recovery”, the Executive Bureau will focus on facilitating discussions among the membership around the priorities of the UCLG policy strategy.

Three thematic sessions will be held, hosted by the Policy Councils, around priority areas identified in their meetings last February, namely Housing, Development Cooperation and Migration, on 14 and 18 May.

Two High-Level Policy Dialogues will focus around issues which importance has been triggered by the pandemic: Digitalization and Health, on 19 and 20 May.

The Opening Policy Debate, which will serve as an umbrella of the formal session of the Bureau on 20 May, will integrate the above subjects and debate the essentials of the care society that the municipal movement is promoting, and will help shape the Pact for the Future aiming to guide the work of the World Organization in the coming years.

Finally, the Business Session of the Bureau will be articulated in three segments, during which all the items will be presented and the synergies between our policy strategies will be highlighted:

Powering the network: Institutional matters
Identifying essentials of the care society
Redefining the pillars of the UCLG strategic priorities

Once again, we welcome you to take a look at the online interactive programme of the Virtual Executive Bureau.

In addition to the descriptions of the sessions that you have already seen, we are pleased to inform that the concept notes of the thematic sessions and high-level policy debates are now also available and will give you more background on the different topics.

[Up-date] On 18 May, our Committee on Social Inclusion is organizing a meeting that will focus on co-creating a global roadmap on Human Rights. More information is already available on UCLGMeets.

As previously informed, UCLG TV is now also available. You will find on the different channels with new and existing video content to support the sessions throughout this #UCLGMeets week!

This is a living programme, and as such, any and all changes will be reflected, so keep a close eye out.

Registration & General Participation

Please note that registration will be open until Monday 17 May. We kindly ask that each member of your delegation fills in the form.

Please note that the list of registered participants will be available on UCLGMeets as from 18 May, as well as some of the voices you will hear during the different sessions.

The information note we previously shared also includes details on how to access the UCLGMeets platform. The Zoom links to connect to the different sessions are available directly on the platform, with the exception of the sessions by invitations only.

As all the sessions will take place via Zoom, we high recommend to ensure you have the most recent version of the app downloaded (tutorial here).
