Dear valued members,

We have the pleasure to invite you to join the online launch event of the 2022 edition of the UCLG Peace Prize for local governments on the 16th of December from 15:00 – 16:00 (CET).

Hosted live from The Hague, city of peace and justice, the event will feature inspiring speakers discussing the potential of local governments in promoting peace. The event will mark the opening of the call for applications, and provide all information local governments need to apply for this award.

Local governments who have innovative and effective initiatives to promote peace in their communities are eligible to apply. The finalists will be sponsored to present their peace initiatives at the UCLG World Congress in the Korean city of Daejeon in October 2022. This congress will also feature the award ceremony, where the winning local government will receive a prize package of €20.000 to strengthen its initiative or facilitate exchange with other local governments.

If you want to join this online event, keep an eye on the event page or the LinkedIn event to get more up-dates and the link to the live stream. After the launch, eligible local governments can start the application procedure. The deadline for applications will be the 1st of March 2022.
